Debate: Religion, Politics and Choices in Times of War

In collaboration with the Dutch newspaper Trouw, EARS is organising a debate on ‘Religion, Politics, and Choices in Times of War’ in the Waalse Kerk in Amsterdam. This debate will consider the role of religion in the war in Ukraine.

Introductions to the topic will be provided by Cees van der Laan (editor-in-chief at Trouw), Marije van Beek (chef editorial office Religion & Philosophy at Trouw), and Matthias Smalbrugge (Professor European culture and Christianity at VU Amsterdam).

Participants in the debate will discuss a number of statements on the role of religion in times of war.
